First Southern Baptist Church of Arcadia

Pastor Larry, wife Julie and family came to us in September of 1994. Brother Larry has a diverse background and experience from living on a wooded farm in southeastern Oklahoma, a professional window cleaner, serving in the US Navy, teaching school as a Special Education teacher and now being a pastor. Brother Larry considers being a pastor as God's great calling.

Brother Richard Vandever is our long time music leader. He his wife Lori and family has grown up in our church. He has a great ear and talent for music. He loves the Lord and wishes to help others worship Him through song.

Betty is so excited to join the staff as the Student Ministry Director! Betty has always had a heart to serve Christ and share His message. Her passion is to reach the youth of today.

Betty was born and raised in Barstow, California. She grew up and attended Trinity Baptist Church until she moved to Oklahoma 11 years ago. She grew up attending Awana Clubs and while still in high school she started a youth group when her church didn’t have one. She has been a part of several ministry’s in a leadership role. She was a Sunday School teacher, an Awana game director, a Vacation Bible School leader, a camp counselor and a Junior Camp director. 

Betty is very excited to grow the student ministry. She has some really great ideas for the students to have fun, grow in their faith and serve the community.
